Print History

Print History Overview

Print History shows a log of all documents that have been printed in the system. Track when packing lists, shipping labels, picking summaries, and other documents were printed. View print details, download PDFs, and filter by date range or order number. This helps audit printing activity and reprint documents when needed.

Track Print Activity

See when documents were printed and who printed them. Track all printing activity for auditing and compliance purposes.

Reprint Documents

Download previously printed PDFs. Click on PDF filenames to download and reprint documents when needed.

Filter by Date or Order

Filter print history by date range or order number. Find specific print records quickly using search filters.

Audit Trail

Maintain a complete audit trail of all printed documents. See print dates, document types, and users who printed them.

  1. Navigate to Print History

    Click Log Print in the warehouse navigation menu. The page loads showing all print history records in a table.

  2. View Print History Table

    Browse records showing ID, Printed (PDF filename), Shipping#, Printed Date, Type, and User.

  3. Filter Records

    Use search filters to find specific print records by Shipping# or Printed Date.

  4. Download PDFs

    Click on PDF filenames to download and view previously printed documents.

The print history table displays:

  • ID - Unique print record identifier (sortable)
  • Printed - PDF filename (clickable link to download PDF)
    • Click filename to download PDF from guardarpdf1/ directory
    • Opens in new window/tab
  • Shipping# - Order ID (Ship#) associated with the print (sortable, searchable)
  • Printed Date - Date and time when document was printed (sortable, searchable with date range)
  • Type - Type of document printed (sortable, searchable)
    • Examples: packing list, shipping label, picking summary, etc.
  • User - Username of user who printed the document (sortable, searchable)

Basic Search:

  • Search box - Search across multiple fields
  • Search options:
    • Exact phrase - Search for exact phrase match
    • All words - All search words must appear (AND logic)
    • Any word - Any search word can appear (OR logic)
  • Search button - Click “Search (*)” to apply search
  • Reset button - Click “Reset” to clear search form
  • Show all link - Click “Show all” to remove all filters

Advanced Search:

  • Shipping# - Text filter (contains search)
    • Enter order ID to find prints for specific order
  • Printed Date - Date range filter (between dates)
    • Select start date and end date using calendar picker
    • Click calendar icon to open date picker
    • Format: yyyy/mm/dd

Column Sorting:

  • Click column headers to sort by that column
  • Click again to reverse sort order
  • Sortable columns: ID, Printed, Shipping#, Printed Date, Type, User
  • Sort indicators show current sort direction (up/down arrows)

Records Per Page:

  • Select number of records to display:
    • 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 records per page
    • All Records - Show all records (no pagination)
  • Selection is saved in session

Navigation:

  • First - Go to first page
  • Previous - Go to previous page
  • Page numbers - Click page number to jump to that page
  • Next - Go to next page
  • Last - Go to last page
  • Shows “Records X to Y of Z” information

Click on any PDF filename in the “Printed” column:

  • PDF opens in new window/tab
  • PDF is downloaded from guardarpdf1/ directory
  • Use browser print function to reprint document
  • Useful for reprinting lost or damaged documents
  1. Enter Shipping#

    Type order ID (Ship#) in the Shipping# search field.

  2. Select Search Type

    Choose search type (Exact phrase, All words, or Any word).

  3. Click Search

    Click Search (*) button to apply search.

  4. View Results

    Table updates showing only print records matching the Shipping#.

  1. Open Start Date Picker

    Click calendar icon next to first Printed Date field.

  2. Select Start Date

    Choose start date from calendar picker.

  3. Open End Date Picker

    Click calendar icon next to second Printed Date field.

  4. Select End Date

    Choose end date from calendar picker.

  5. Click Search

    Click Search (*) button to apply date range filter.

  6. View Results

    Table updates showing only print records within selected date range.

  1. Find Print Record

    Browse table or use filters to find the print record you want.

  2. Click PDF Filename

    Click on the PDF filename in the “Printed” column.

  3. View PDF

    PDF opens in a new window/tab.

  4. Print or Save

    Use browser print function to print, or save PDF for later use.

  1. Click Column Header

    Click on any sortable column header (ID, Printed, Shipping#, Printed Date, Type, User).

  2. View Sorted Results

    Table sorts by selected column in ascending order.

  3. Reverse Sort

    Click column header again to reverse sort order (descending).

  1. Open Records Per Page Dropdown

    Find “Records Per Page” dropdown at bottom of table.

  2. Select Number

    Choose number of records to display (10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, or All Records).

  3. View Updated Table

    Table updates showing selected number of records per page.

  1. Click Reset Button

    Click Reset button in search form.

  2. Clear Search Fields

    All search fields are cleared.

  3. Click Show All

    Click Show all link to remove all filters and show all records.

  4. View All Records

    Table updates showing all print history records.

Filter by Date Range

Use date range filters to focus on recent prints. Filter by specific week or month to review recent printing activity.

Search by Order

Use Shipping# search to find all prints for a specific order. Useful when tracking all documents printed for an order.

Download PDFs Regularly

Download important PDFs for record keeping. Store PDFs in a secure location for compliance and auditing.

Review Print Types

Filter by Type to see what types of documents are being printed most often. Helps identify printing patterns.

Track User Activity

Filter by User to see printing activity by specific users. Useful for training and auditing purposes.

Use Pagination

Adjust records per page based on your needs. Use smaller page sizes (10-50) for faster loading, or “All Records” for complete export.

Problem: Print history table is empty or shows no records.

Solutions:

  1. Check if prints exist - verify documents have been printed in the system
  2. Clear all filters - click “Show all” link to remove filters
  3. Check date range - ensure date range includes dates when prints occurred
  4. Verify user permissions - ensure you have access to view print history
  5. Try different search - use basic search instead of advanced filters
  6. Refresh the page

Problem: Clicking PDF filename doesn’t download or open PDF.

Solutions:

  1. Check browser popup blocker - ensure popups are allowed
  2. Check PDF file exists - PDF may have been deleted from server
  3. Try right-click and “Open in new tab”
  4. Check browser console for errors
  5. Verify file path - ensure guardarpdf1/ directory is accessible
  6. Try different browser

Problem: Search filters don’t return results or don’t apply.

Solutions:

  1. Check search syntax - ensure Shipping# is correct format
  2. Verify date format - use yyyy/mm/dd format for dates
  3. Try basic search instead - use search box above table
  4. Clear filters and reapply - click Reset, then set filters again
  5. Check search type - try different search type (Exact phrase, All words, Any word)
  6. Verify data exists - ensure print records match search criteria

Problem: Calendar date picker doesn’t open or doesn’t select dates.

Solutions:

  1. Check browser JavaScript - ensure JavaScript is enabled
  2. Try clicking calendar icon again
  3. Check browser console for errors
  4. Try manual date entry - type date in yyyy/mm/dd format
  5. Try different browser
  6. Refresh the page

Problem: Clicking column headers doesn’t sort table.

Solutions:

  1. Check browser JavaScript - ensure JavaScript is enabled
  2. Try clicking column header again
  3. Check browser console for errors
  4. Refresh the page and try again
  5. Verify column is sortable - some columns may not be sortable

Problem: Pagination buttons don’t work or don’t navigate pages.

Solutions:

  1. Check browser JavaScript - ensure JavaScript is enabled
  2. Try clicking pagination buttons again
  3. Check browser console for errors
  4. Verify records exist - ensure there are multiple pages of records
  5. Try changing records per page - select different number
  6. Refresh the page

Problem: Changing records per page doesn’t update table.

Solutions:

  1. Check browser JavaScript - ensure JavaScript is enabled
  2. Try selecting different number
  3. Check browser console for errors
  4. Verify form submission - dropdown should trigger form submit
  5. Try refreshing page after selection
  6. Check browser console for form submission errors

Problem: Search results don’t match search criteria.

Solutions:

  1. Check search type - try different search type (Exact phrase vs All words)
  2. Verify search syntax - ensure Shipping# is correct format
  3. Check date range - ensure dates are in correct format (yyyy/mm/dd)
  4. Try basic search - use search box instead of advanced filters
  5. Clear filters and reapply - click Reset, then set filters again
  6. Verify data exists - ensure print records match search criteria

Problem: PDF filename link shows 404 Not Found error.

Solutions:

  1. Check PDF file exists - PDF may have been deleted from server
  2. Verify file path - ensure guardarpdf1/ directory is accessible
  3. Check file permissions - ensure PDF files are readable
  4. Contact administrator - PDF files may need to be restored from backup
  5. Try searching for different print record - other PDFs may still be available
