Picking Log Overview

Picking Log shows a complete history of all picking activities in your warehouse. Track which orders were picked, who picked them, how long it took, and what bins were used. This log helps you monitor picking performance, identify bottlenecks, and review picking history for any order.

Track Picking History

See complete history of all picking activities. Review what was picked, when it was picked, and who picked it for any order.

Monitor Performance

Track picking times and user productivity. Identify which orders take longer to pick and which users are most efficient.

Review Details

Expand order rows to see detailed picking information including SKUs, quantities, bins, locations, and elapsed times for each item.

Advanced Filtering

Filter picking log by company, source, ship number, username, status, date range, location, or bin to find specific picking activities.

  1. Navigate to Picking Log

    Click Picking Log from the picking operations page or warehouse menu. The page loads showing all picking activities grouped by shipping number.

  2. View Log Table

    Browse the table showing key information: Company Name, Source, Ship#, Status, Last Updated, Username, Location, Bin, and Pick and Pack details.

  3. Filter Activities

    Use the advanced filter options to narrow down activities by company, source, ship number, username, status, date, location, or bin.

  4. Review Details

    Expand order rows to see detailed picking information for each item.

The picking log table displays the following information:

  • Company Name - Account name (Company_name)
  • Source - Where the picking was performed:
    • WMS PRO - Picked using mobile WMS app
    • Web QC - Picked using web Quality Control interface
  • Ship# - Internal system order ID (Shipping_number)
  • Status - Current picking status:
    • P&P in process - Pick and Pack currently in progress
    • P&P finished - Pick and Pack completed
    • QC in process - Quality Control currently in progress
    • QC finished - Quality Control completed
  • Last Updated - Date and time of last activity (TimeStamp)
  • Username - User who performed the picking activity (User_name)
  • Location - Warehouse location where picking occurred
  • Bin - Bin location where items were picked from
  • Pick and Pack - Expandable table showing detailed picking information

Click to expand any order row to see detailed picking information:

Detailed Columns:

  • Username - User who picked the item
  • Pallet - Pallet identifier (if applicable)
  • BoxID - Box identifier (clickable link to view multibox details)
  • SKU - Product SKU that was picked
  • QTY - Quantity picked
  • Status - Picking status for this item
  • Elapsed time - Time taken to pick this item (hours:minutes:seconds)
  • Location - Warehouse location
  • Bin - Bin location
  • Shipping_number - Order ID

Quantities Displayed:

  • Pick and Pack Quantity - Total quantity picked via Pick and Pack (P&P source)
  • QC Quantity - Total quantity processed via Quality Control (QC source)

Filter picking log entries using advanced filters:

Available Filters:

  • Company Name - Filter by account/company name
  • Source - Filter by picking source:
    • WMS PRO - Mobile WMS app picks
    • WEB - Web QC picks
  • Ship# - Filter by shipping number (order ID)
  • Username - Filter by user who performed the picking
  • Status - Filter by picking status:
    • P&P in process
    • P&P finished
    • QC in process
    • QC finished
  • Last Updated - Filter by date range of last activity
  • Location - Filter by warehouse location
  • Bin - Filter by bin location

Using Advanced Filters:

  1. Open Filter Dropdown

    Click in the filter search box to open the filter dropdown.

  2. Select Field

    Choose the field you want to filter by (Company Name, Source, Ship#, etc.).

  3. Select Operator

    Choose the operator:

    • = (equals) for select fields
    • != (not equals) for select fields
    • CONTAINS for text fields
    • BETWEEN for date fields
  4. Enter Value

    Enter or select the filter value:

    • Select from dropdown for select fields
    • Type text for text fields
    • Choose date range for date fields
  5. Apply Filter

    The filter is applied automatically. You’ll see a filter tag showing your active filter.

  6. Add More Filters

    Repeat steps 2-5 to add additional filters. Multiple filters work together (AND logic).

Date Range Filter:

When filtering by “Last Updated”, you can use preset ranges:

  • Today - Activities from today
  • Yesterday - Activities from yesterday
  • Last 7 Days - Activities from the past week
  • Last 30 Days - Activities from the past month
  • This Month - Activities from current month
  • Last Month - Activities from previous month
  • Last 2 Months - Activities from past 2 months
  • Last 3 Months - Activities from past 3 months

Or select a custom date range with time.

Save frequently used filter combinations:

  1. Apply Filters

    Set up your desired filter combination using the advanced filter dropdown.

  2. Click Save

    Click the Save button (with save icon) in the filter box.

  3. Enter Details

    Enter:

    • Name - Short name for the filter (required)
    • Description - Longer description of what the filter shows
    • Color - Choose a color to identify this filter
  4. Save Filter

    Click Save to store the filter.

  5. Load Later

    Click on saved filters from the “Saved filters” list to apply them quickly.

Managing Saved Filters:

  • Apply Filter - Click on a saved filter name to apply it
  • Delete Filter - Click the X icon on a saved filter to delete it
  • Save As - When editing a saved filter, use “Save as” to create a new filter instead of overwriting

Some orders may have multiple boxes. View box details:

  1. Expand Order Row

    Click to expand an order row showing Pick and Pack details.

  2. Find BoxID

    Look for the BoxID column in the detailed table.

  3. Click BoxID

    Click on a BoxID number to view multibox information for that box.

  4. Review Box Details

    A modal or popup shows detailed information about the box and its contents.

Export picking log data for reporting or analysis:

CSV Export:

  • Click the CSV button (if available) to export log data
  • Downloads filtered log entries to CSV format
  • Includes all visible columns

Excel Export:

  • Click the EXCEL button (if available) to export log data
  • Downloads formatted Excel spreadsheet
  • Includes all visible columns

P&P in process:

  • Order is currently being picked or packed
  • Items are being collected from bins
  • Not yet ready for Quality Control

P&P finished:

  • Pick and Pack process completed
  • All items have been picked from bins
  • Ready for Quality Control (if QC is enabled)

QC in process:

  • Quality Control is currently being performed
  • Items are being verified and checked
  • Not yet completed

QC finished:

  • Quality Control completed successfully
  • Order is ready for shipping
  • All verification steps completed

WMS PRO:

  • Picking performed using mobile WMS application
  • Typically faster and more efficient
  • Includes barcode scanning and mobile workflows

Web QC:

  • Picking performed using web-based Quality Control interface
  • Useful for desktop-based workflows
  • May include additional verification steps

Filter by Date Range

Use date filters to focus on recent picking activities. Start with “Last 7 Days” or “Last 30 Days” to see current performance.

Save Common Filters

Save frequently used filter combinations (like “Today’s Picks” or “User Performance”) to quickly access the same views.

Review Elapsed Times

Check elapsed times in detailed view to identify orders that take longer to pick. This helps identify training needs or process improvements.

Monitor User Performance

Filter by username to review individual picker performance. Compare picking times and identify top performers.

Track Problem Orders

Filter by status to find orders stuck in “P&P in process” or “QC in process” that may need attention.

Export for Analysis

Export log data regularly to analyze trends, identify bottlenecks, and optimize picking processes.

Problem: Picking Log page doesn’t load or shows access denied.

Solutions:

  1. Verify Picking Log feature is enabled in system settings (ConfigModule: picking_log = ‘Y’)
  2. Check you have permissions to view Order_List_Processing_A
  3. Ensure you’re logged in with appropriate user level
  4. Contact administrator if feature is not enabled
  5. Try refreshing the page

Problem: Picking Log table is empty or shows no entries.

Solutions:

  1. Check if any picking activities have occurred - log only shows completed picks
  2. Clear all filters - you may have filters excluding all entries
  3. Expand date range - default may only show recent entries
  4. Verify orders have been picked using mobile app or web QC
  5. Check if log data exists in database (contact administrator)

Problem: Applied filters don’t show expected results.

Solutions:

  1. Verify filter values are correct (check spelling, format)
  2. Clear all filters and reapply one at a time to identify the issue
  3. Check if multiple filters are conflicting
  4. Try removing filters and adding them back
  5. Refresh the page and reapply filters
  6. Check if saved filters are interfering - clear saved filters if needed

Problem: Clicking on order row doesn’t expand to show Pick and Pack details.

Solutions:

  1. Wait for page to fully load - details load via AJAX
  2. Check browser console for JavaScript errors
  3. Verify order has Pick and Pack data (qty_p&p > 0)
  4. Refresh the page and try again
  5. Try a different browser
  6. Check internet connection - details load from server

Problem: Saved filters don’t apply when clicked.

Solutions:

  1. Verify filter was saved correctly - check saved filters list
  2. Refresh the page and try loading filter again
  3. Check if filter format is valid - corrupted filters may not load
  4. Try deleting and recreating the saved filter
  5. Clear browser cache and try again
  6. Check browser console for errors

Problem: Export buttons don’t appear or don’t work.

Solutions:

  1. Verify export feature is enabled in your system
  2. Check if you have export permissions
  3. Ensure filters are applied correctly before exporting
  4. Try exporting a smaller date range
  5. Check browser popup blockers
  6. Contact administrator if export feature is not available

Problem: Order status doesn’t match actual picking state.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page - status updates may not be reflected yet
  2. Check if order is currently being processed - status may be updating
  3. Verify order has completed picking process
  4. Review detailed Pick and Pack table for individual item statuses
  5. Contact administrator if status consistently incorrect
