Change Password

Change Password allows you to update your account password to keep your ShipEdge account secure. Use this feature regularly to maintain account security and protect your business data.

Keep your account secure by updating your password regularly. Strong passwords help protect your business data and prevent unauthorized access.

Many businesses require regular password changes for security compliance. Update your password to meet your company’s security policies.

Recovery

If you’ve forgotten your password or suspect it’s been compromised, change it immediately to secure your account.

Easy Access

Change your password anytime from your account settings. No need to contact support for password updates.

  1. Navigate to Account Overview

    Click My Account in the main navigation menu, then click Change Password from the Account Overview page.

  2. View Change Password Form

    The Change Password page loads with a form containing three password fields:

    • Old Password
    • New Password
    • Confirm Password
  3. Enter Your Passwords

    Fill in all three fields with your current password and your new password (entered twice).

Your new password must meet these requirements:

Length:

  • Minimum: 8 characters
  • Maximum: 20 characters

Required Character Types:

  • ✅ At least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • ✅ At least one lowercase letter (a-z)
  • ✅ At least one number (0-9)
  • ✅ At least one special character from: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - = [ ] { } | ; : , . ?

Not Allowed:

  • ❌ Spaces
  • ❌ Emoji characters
  • ❌ Your current password (must be different)

Example Valid Passwords:

  • MyP@ssw0rd!
  • Secure#2024
  • Ch@ngeMe123

Example Invalid Passwords:

  • password (no uppercase, no special characters)
  • PASSWORD123 (no lowercase, no special characters)
  • My Pass (contains space)
  • Short1! (too short, less than 8 characters)
  1. Enter Your Old Password

    Type your current password in the Old Password field. This verifies that you’re authorized to change the password.

  2. Enter Your New Password

    Type your new password in the New Password field. Make sure it meets all password requirements shown below the field.

  3. Confirm Your New Password

    Type your new password again in the Confirm Password field. This must match exactly what you entered in the New Password field.

  4. Review Password Requirements

    Check that your new password meets all requirements:

    • Between 8 and 20 characters
    • Contains uppercase and lowercase letters
    • Contains at least one number
    • Contains at least one special character
    • Does not contain spaces or emoji
    • Is different from your current password
  5. Submit the Form

    Click Change password button to save your new password. The system will validate your entries before saving.

  6. Confirmation

    If successful, you’ll be redirected to your previous page or the dashboard. A confirmation email will be sent to your account email address with your new password.

Immediate Changes:

  • Your password is updated immediately
  • You’ll need to use your new password for future logins
  • All active sessions remain logged in (you won’t be logged out)

Email Notification:

  • An email is sent to your account email address
  • The email contains your new password
  • Keep this email secure or delete it after saving your password elsewhere

Redirect:

  • You’ll be redirected to your last visited page
  • Or redirected to the dashboard if no previous page is available
  • If opened in a modal, the modal will close automatically

Old Password Incorrect:

  • Error: “The password is incorrect”
  • Solution: Double-check your current password. Make sure Caps Lock is off and you’re typing correctly.

New Password Doesn’t Meet Requirements:

  • Error: “New password does not meet requirements”
  • Solution: Review the password requirements and ensure your password includes all required character types.

Passwords Don’t Match:

  • Error: “Passwords don’t match”
  • Solution: Make sure the New Password and Confirm Password fields contain exactly the same text.

New Password Same as Old:

  • Error: “Your new password must be different from the one you had”
  • Solution: Choose a completely different password from your current one.

Use Strong Passwords

Create passwords that are hard to guess but easy for you to remember. Use a mix of characters, numbers, and symbols.

Change Regularly

Update your password every 90 days or according to your company’s security policy. Regular changes help prevent unauthorized access.

Don't Reuse Passwords

Use a unique password for ShipEdge that you don’t use for other accounts. If one account is compromised, others stay safe.

Store Securely

Save your password in a secure password manager. Don’t write passwords on paper or store them in unsecured files.

Check Email

After changing your password, check your email for the confirmation message. Save the password securely or delete the email.

Log Out Other Devices

If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password immediately and log out from all devices, then log back in with your new password.

Cannot Access Change Password Page

  • Ensure you’re logged into ShipEdge
  • Check that you have permission to change your password
  • Try logging out and logging back in
  • Contact support if the issue persists

Old Password Not Working

  • Verify Caps Lock is off
  • Check that you’re typing the correct password
  • Try copying and pasting your password from a secure location
  • If you’ve forgotten your password, contact support for password reset

New Password Rejected

  • Review all password requirements carefully
  • Ensure your password is between 8 and 20 characters
  • Check that it contains uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters
  • Make sure there are no spaces or emoji
  • Verify the password is different from your current one

Passwords Don’t Match Error

  • Type the new password carefully in both fields
  • Copy and paste the password to ensure exact match
  • Check for extra spaces before or after the password
  • Make sure both fields contain the same password

Email Not Received

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Verify your email address is correct in your account settings
  • Wait a few minutes for the email to arrive
  • Check that your email server isn’t blocking ShipEdge emails
  • Contact support if email still doesn’t arrive

Redirected to Wrong Page

  • This is normal behavior - you’ll be sent to your last visited page
  • Navigate manually to where you want to go
  • The password change was successful even if redirected

Modal Not Closing

  • If opened in a modal, it should close automatically
  • Try refreshing the page if the modal stays open
  • Close the modal manually if needed
  • The password change was successful
